EDITORIAL POLICY

Editorial standards readers can inspect.

Accuracy, independence, clear sourcing, and honest limits guide every page we publish.

Last updated: August 16, 2026

Editorial independence

Editorial conclusions are based on the published use case and evaluation criteria. Advertisers, retailers, affiliate programs, and product manufacturers do not receive advance approval of our coverage and cannot purchase a favorable recommendation.

Accuracy and sources

We prefer first-party manuals, government agencies, standards organizations, and direct documentation for verifiable claims. Secondary sources may help identify questions but do not replace an authoritative source when safety, regulation, or technical accuracy is involved.

Readers should always follow the instructions supplied with their vehicle, chemical, appliance, tool, storage system, or building component. Local rules and site conditions may differ from general guidance.

Hands-on language

Terms such as “we tested,” “we measured,” or “after six months of use” are reserved for work with a documented sample and method. A product selected through specification research or comparative analysis is described as researched, evaluated, or compared—not tested.

Use of AI tools

AI tools may assist with outlining, copy editing, structured data, or identifying questions that deserve research. They are not treated as factual sources. Published material is reviewed for accuracy, originality, usefulness, disclosure, and consistency with this policy. We do not mass-publish unreviewed pages or create fictional product experience.

Corrections

Clear factual errors are corrected promptly. Minor spelling or formatting changes may be made without a note. When a correction materially changes safety guidance, product criteria, or the conclusion, the article will receive an updated date and an explanatory note where useful.

Affiliate links and advertising

Affiliate relationships are disclosed at the site level and near monetized recommendations. Display advertising, if introduced, will be visually distinguishable from editorial content. We do not ask readers to click ads or disguise advertising as navigation or recommendations.
